I've been thinking a lot lately about what I want from my life, where I want to spend my time, and so on. January and February are also some of the busiest times for me with our non-profit, as I have meetings, annual paperwork, reports, website updates, and more. Taxes, bleh, that's the next big thing on my list.
We survived 12 puppies for almost two months, and now just have one left, bringing our total to six dogs. Raccoon has been pestering us for ducks again, but we have to find a way to prevent the 2nd Duck Massacre before we give in. The puppy bit our hamster, so exactly 50% of our dogs do not seem to be able to surpress their hunting instincts.
What is on my heart? Doubts about making a go of this homeschooling thing, missing my family, wanting to go to the beach (always), enjoying the last day before Lent starts tomorrow. What am I giving up for Lent? Dairy. Including chocolate. It's the comfort food I reach for, but during Lent I want to think more about my Savior and less about my stomach.
Do what I love. That is my phrase for 2015, but unfortunately some essential things aren't getting done, so I'm modifying that to "Take Time," as a variation of my first Do It Now phrase back in 2012. But when I think of my children, it's still do what they love. Right now that's science for Raccoon and Daddy time for Kitty.
Wish me luck, and self-control.
